Michael Galea, Jr. Founder/President/CEO

5G Expanded Learning, Inc. was formed to address the need for quality, affordable after-school care in Marin County.

Our Founder, Michael Galea, Jr., has dedicated the past 20+ years of his career to improving the quality of Youth Development programs, with a strong focus on enhancing cognitive skills, promoting healthy lifestyles, and improving Social-Emotional Wellness.

Michael's family provided encouragement and support throughout his life, and played a vital role in his professional development. They have been, and continue to be, the driving force behind his passion for the education and betterment of youth, and are the inspiration behind our name.

Our Goal

It is our mission to encourage and support the social, emotional, and academic development of the youth we serve.

Our members engage in fun, exciting programs, which will help prepare them for success in and out of the classroom. We offer inclusive programs that will excite, inspire, challenge, and help guide our members on a path to success.

Our Program

Our program catalog is designed to support the
5 C's of Positive Youth Development model:
Confidence, Competence, Connection, Character & Caring.
We apply this model to each of our Program Areas:
STEM, The Arts, Character Building, Leadership Development,
Health & Fitness, Life Skills, and Sports/Recreation.

Programs will run in 6-week blocks, and are modified to fit each grade level. Members start each of our program activities at the "Beginner" stage, and progress through the curriculum at a pace that encourages effective skill development. In doing so, we increase the probability of our members achieving skill mastery, no matter their initial skill level or prior knowledge of the activity. Every week, members will participate in exciting hands-on lessons, and work toward a final project. Our experienced staff works closely with each member to assure the material is understood, and the desired outcome is achieved.

How will we make sure our members are not only learning, but having a great time doing it?
One word: Options. Our members will have a significant amount of creative control over the activities in each program. We designed our curriculum to allow for modifications, without straying from its purpose, or the outcome we wish to achieve. If our members are disinterested, the likelihood of information retention decreases dramatically. With this in mind, we allow our members to choose the programs they participate in, and provide suggestions to ramp up the "FUN FACTOR" of our activities.
